Gearbox issues are expensive when they're misdiagnosed. A new auto box is £3,000+. A mechatronic unit is £1,200+. A clutch is £600-£1,200. Often the actual fault is much smaller - a worn dual mass flywheel mis-blamed on a clutch, a tired ATF fluid mis-blamed on a torque converter. We diagnose first, recommend the fix afterwards.

DSG/S-Tronic boxes are great when they work and a nightmare when they don't. Mechatronic faults, judder on take-off, learned values gone wrong - we diagnose with ODIS-level tooling and only recommend mechatronic replacement when it's genuinely needed.
